Phil has been an exceptional running coach and personal trainer. As a more casual runner, I wanted to take my training to the next level to achieve my goal of running a sub-4 hour marathon.
Phil created a personalised running and strength training plan tailored to me and my goals. Each session was flexible and designed to fit my schedule. In just a few weeks I was already noticing a difference in my endurance and pace, I felt each run had a purpose, with VO2, Lactate Threshold and Aerobic runs.
I’ve learnt so much about the science behind running and strength training. Everything is explained and if I have any questions, I know they will be answered in detail.
In just 12-weeks my half marathon time improved from 1:56 to 1:44 and 4 weeks later, I hit my marathon goal and ran in 3:54, taking 23 minutes off my previous time!
I’m so happy with the progress from the training plans and the variety within the strength training sessions. Phil has plenty of equipment and I thoroughly recommend Phil’s running coach and personal training sessions.

I had been running for a number of years and with several coaches, online and in person, but found myself in a rut and not progressing. I started working with Phil to improve my speed and endurance and within a very short space of time I noticed a massive difference in the way my training was structured. Phil has a very intuitive way of working, which means his training plans are incredibly flexible, adjust to circumstances and very personal to the athlete. I felt that I was only a message away from help should I need it. Alongside this Phil kept in touch and checked in regularly to see how I was feeling, how things were going and whether adaptations were needed.
This was definitely not a ‘one size fits all’ approach, it was my plan.
It has helped me succeed at both half and marathon levels, targeting sub 3:20 marathon this year, and I’m now hoping to build further on this for greater distances and Ultra running. I have also called on Phil for strength training, in the same way providing specific personal training to compliment my running and reduce the risk of injury. I can’t recommend Phil enough as I know he genuinely cares about his clients and will work just as hard to fulfil your full potential and reach your goals and beyond.
